This hotel, restaurant and spa in Armenia is located in the greenest area of the country and amidst a fantastic landscape. The architecture is based on organic inclusion into the mountain landscape while also creating a sense of plasticity. Viewpoints are ensured at a 360º degree, and each room in the hotel offers a view of at least three directions. Local and natural materials have been used – wood, basalt, noble metals and stone. The emphasis is more on texture than decoration. Traditional ornaments are offered in a modern and ascetic manner so that the main accent is the surrounding landscape.

Honouring the wooden architecture and site identity of Āgenskalns, the façade is finished in wood but the planes of roof slopes continue the silhouette of historical buildings in area. Dwelling consists of two volumes, each complementing the other while also dividing the preferable amount of space thus blending in the surrounding scale. Contemporary toned down and self-sufficient architecture in a historical and nostalgically romantic neighborhood of Riga that resembles the province.

An exclusive apartment building, located just 50 metres from the sea. It makes reference to the cinema and the theatre, thus creating creative associations. The façade has wood motifs with a projection of pine shadows on the walls, as well as Venetian blinds with different dies and perforations. The vestibule does not hide the structures of the building, and it is a background for very modern interior elements. For instance, each flat is to have its own wine refrigerator. The interior courtyard has the form of an old cinema, with a garden with live fire, various leisure groups and a playground for children.

The historical neighbourhood of the building was once known as Philosophers’ Alley, because people with the most brilliant minds lived and gathered there. The name and concept of the new “Philosopher’s Residence” building is meant to honour them. The lobby of the building is like a library. The room has a ceiling that is 12 metres high. The shelving is as high as the ceiling and resembles pages of books that can be turned. The atmosphere is improved by a fireplace and upholstered furniture for unhurried reading of books and engaging in philosophical discussions.

The lobby and public space concept for the “Place 11” project is based on Karl Jung’s synchronicity concept, or “being at the right place at the right time.” The foundation for this is light as a fundamental element. An installation that has been created by mirrors that have been arranged in the proper trajectories create the effect that when light shines at a specific period of time, there is a flourishing of light and a rainbow appears. The building has the BREEAM certificate, which means that local materials have been used, and energy solutions are increasingly efficient.

A family home on the coast of the Baltic Sea, where to escape the haste of the city. The architectural volume is both visually and functionally divided into three blocks, drawing inspiration and modernizing the silhouettes of seaside fishermen’s dwellings. The wooden façade, cool grey and pale sand tones harmoniously set into the landscape. Whereas the light, unconstrained aesthetic provides space for peace and reprieve.
