The façade of the residential building was inspired by the visual architecture of apartment buildings that were erected during the “golden age” in Rīga – the late 19th and early 20th century. These are particularly expressive and rich in the city’s historical centre. After investigating and analysing the surrounding area, the façade was given a new level of quality, and the reflective principle is the main finishing accent for the building. Without forgetting about environmental harmony, use was made of modern construction technologies, solutions and materials. The façade has been supplemented with modern decorative elements that fit into the cultural and historical environment.

The building was constructed around a growing body compositional center - inner garden.  It was conceived Stylistics Japanese tsubo garden form of the Japanese garden culture generally been integrated inside the house, as a recreational area. Space around the garden was intended to be transparent, thereby fusing, at the same time separating the functions of acquiring and natural feeling to a room. During project implementation, unfortunately, the client refused to inner garden, adding indoor seating area.
Shape the direction of home was holding against the neighboring streets, parcel boundaries and corners. Building a vertical direction followed by the sun span, thus the second floor of the south side places deeper, resulting in direct sunlight. On the second floor bedroom has a spacious terrace with a planned green plants.

Building is finished with a blackish tree, creating a variety of boards in rhythm, but resulting in a seamless whole volume, where the main emphasis put on the form. Finishing a different highlight only the entrance area, including the smooth metal door in the plane. Emphasizing the building face, the remainder of the plot-driven corner wooden footbridge, situated in an outdoor fireplace. From there, the building is perceived in its entirety.

This is a twin house for two different people, and that is why the façades are also different.  One house is finished of grey and vertical wood, while the other is finished of black metal. The terraces of the two houses are identical and made of black wood that visually merges the houses into a single appearance. The interior of the metal building has visible load-bearing structures, and a particular accent is a set of furniture from the 1960s and 1970s that has been restored by the owner. The interior of the other house was based on sketches by building`s architect Zane Tetere and supplemented with classical design objects such as a Vitra dining table and chairs.

This hotel, restaurant and spa in Armenia is located in the greenest area of the country and amidst a fantastic landscape.  The architecture is based on organic inclusion into the mountain landscape while also creating a sense of plasticity.  Viewpoints are ensured at a 360º degree, and each room in the hotel offers a view of at least three directions.  Local and natural materials have been used – wood, basalt, noble metals and stone.  The emphasis is more on texture than decoration.  Traditional ornaments are offered in a modern and ascetic manner so that the main accent is the surrounding landscape.

Winning concept for 5* hotel in city center of Riga, Republikas laukums. Our proposal is based on hotel concept to create the building as a continuous story about different heroes of Latvia – legends who have given an important investment in the development of arts, science, architecture and design of Riga, Latvia and world. Each volume represents one of the characters.

An apartment complex surrounded by quiet streets and green courtyards in the quarter between Ernestīnes, Dreiliņu, Ormaņu and Struteles streets. Laconic, modern architecture that lives in line with Āgenskalns' historic wooden and brick low-rise buildings. The silhouette of buildings with their gable roofs and natural finishing harmoniously fits into the visual character of the neighbourhood and enriches it. In turn, the ecological building materials and natural tar paint for the façade make the dwellings sustainable and friendly both for man and nature.

For every building, a front and a back garden with flowering shrubs has been tended, so to bring dwellers closer to the nature while living the dynamic city rhythm. Landscape architecture is designed keeping in mind the families, so that every generation finds a place for both leisure and active lifestyle. Children's playground with multifunctional wooden installation, shock absorbing rubber clad relief for climbing and games, secret tree house, sports area and mountaineering wall. All of this has been functionally and almost imperceptibly integrated into the residential complex, creating a contemporary, comfortable and inspiring environment.

Simple in form, this is a building that can be assembled and transported.  The characteristics of the building are emphasised by the façade, which is made up of white sawn boards that are turned by 45 degrees, as well as stained wood segments in the main façade.  The interior has simple finishing with an emphasis on large design elements such as trees in metal pots, large corner sofas, etc.  Cosiness in the room is ensured by a large fireplace.  Elegance is ensured by details such as metal and glass lamps, cast iron radiators, and the glass finishing of the bar counter.  The terrace design is in a similar style to the interior, and the basic concept is an “apple orchard.” A particular mood is ensured by shelves on the façade where boxes with plants can be placed.

The main prerequisite for the concept of the “Legend Beach” beach café is harmony with the beach landscape.  Beaches in Latvia tend to be light in colour, and so the complex is finished with light wood.  The decorative elements of the wood façade graphically depict sand that has been decorated by the wind.  “Legend Beach” is a multifunctional venue with a café, bar, juice bar, souvenir store, two pools with bed-type sofas alongside them, an area of sand, and sun tanning loungers.  The terraces have several levels so as to differentiate the scope and to create a more natural impression.

Honouring the wooden architecture and site identity of Āgenskalns, the façade is finished in wood but the planes of roof slopes continue the silhouette of historical buildings in area. Dwelling consists of two volumes, each complementing the other while also dividing the preferable amount of space thus blending in the surrounding scale. Contemporary toned down and self-sufficient architecture in a historical and nostalgically romantic neighborhood of Riga that resembles the province. 

Restaurant is located in industrial area of Riga, where now workshops for artists, abandoned soviet time port buildings, also yacht club are located. All together it is creating area which is unaffected mix of dynamic rhythm of city, variable characters and different spirits.
The name of restaurant- KOYA- in Japanese means- lean-to, awning.
The concept of Project is to flow with existing atmosphere and stylistics of area, to retain it and to take part in it in creative way, in the same time adding the modern touch for restaurant.
Interior is created working with contrasts and materials in large planes and forms and not working with decorations and small details. Restaurant building is lean-to which was renovated in the way to remain the effect of shed (existing plank ceiling left without changes), using existing brick walls. Contemporary feeling is given with contrast between old robust ceiling planks and glossy, smooth black glass wall, adding huge metal chandeliers.
Large planes and sizes, simple new materials (long bar and standing tables with black metal finishing and oak-tree surface) massive, high plank doors, huge chandeliers and furniture with metal elements- all together is creating contrast against industrial setting around but is not challenging and fighting with it.

A family home on the coast of the Baltic Sea, where to escape the haste of the city. The architectural volume is both visually and functionally divided into three blocks, drawing inspiration and modernizing the silhouettes of seaside fishermen’s dwellings. The wooden façade, cool grey and pale sand tones harmoniously set into the landscape. Whereas the light, unconstrained aesthetic provides space for peace and reprieve.
